I believe all ODBII codes are the same. That was the genius of ODBII.

I'm not sure what 260 or s60R codes mean.

I think that's the car type, in this case a Volvo 260. If you are in the USA go to Autozone or Advance and have them scan it for free.

I was under the impression it differed from car to car model.

you are right. it was the car model. s60 R is the performance version of my car. I do not have that version sadly..
